Christian Campus Fellowship at UWG is holding a 5k fund run this March. All students and anyone in the Carrollton area are invited to participate. CCF has plans to start a new program and the run provides students with a fun and healthy way to have a part in creating something new at CCF.
The event will take place on March 9, at 9A.M. at Carrollton Greenbelt. Students who register for the run before Feb. 23 will pay a $25 fee and any students registering after that date will pay a $30 fee. The fee covers the cost of a T-shirt and a post-race meal. The reason for the fund run is to raise money for CCF’s new program, “Stories Campaign.” The goal of this campaign is to reach out to more students on UWG’S campus. “It’s really a way to help raise funding to help our ministry exist as well as interact and celebrate with our local community,” said Cole Stratton, active member of CCF.
CCF encourages anyone in the community to come out and run. The mission of CCF is “Love God, Love People.” CCF wants to live up to that by holding this race for students and the community so they are able to give back to them in a different and more effective way with this new program.
“This 5k fund run is also part of the 20th anniversary of CCF,” said Stratton. March 9 will mark 20 years that CCF has been on campus at UWG. There will also be a banquet after the race that students are welcome to attend. This is a grand event for CCF and they would love to celebrate it with the heart of their organization, the students at UWG. “20 years is a long time and we would not have been able to do it without the support of the community around us,” said Stratton.
Students can also expect runners from across the state because the run has been posted on active.com. While the event’s purpose is to help further CCF on campus and in Carrollton, there will be many runners from other areas to donate and show support to CCF.
Students who want to run and make a difference can register online and find more details about the event at www.uwgccf.org.
