The University of West Georgia’s Campus Center will begin holding registration for its spring intramural sports on Feb. 6.  Students will be able to sign-up for volleyball, softball and ultimate Frisbee teams.  Co-ed, men’s and women’s leagues will be available to students, as well as faculty and full-time staff from UWG.  Eligible participants will be able to create their own team, or join an existing team’s roster as well as list themselves as a free agent.  Free agents may list personal information about themselves which can be viewed by team captains and all other registered members.

The intramural volleyball season will begin Feb. 19, and the intramural softball and ultimate Frisbee seasons begin March 5.  Each team must pay a collective entry fee of $105 in order to participate in season competition.  Intramural tournaments will also be offered in each sport, with a team entry fee of $25.

Intramural sports are a great opportunity for students seeking to gain new friendships as well as develop physical, mental, and emotional attributes through team-focused competition.  Not only can intramural sports be fun and exciting, but they can also give students an opportunity to get the needed exercise to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

For complete rules and guidelines, or instructions on registration for intramural sports, visit the University Recreation website at www.westga.edu/urec/  or visit room 202 of the University Campus Center.
