Chow down in C-town: Sidelines

Sport bars are perfect for the big game, but the new sports bar and lounge in Carrollton, Sidelines, offers a more complete experience. Sidelines, located next to Little Caesars, is the perfect place for the ultimate pre-game, in-game and post-game experience.

You walk into the restaurant and onto the field with their surrounding sports atmosphere. The floor is painted turf-green, making the customers feel as if they are a part of the experience. There are six televisions spread throughout the restaurant that give customers access to any games they wish to watch. Sidelines has more to offer than simply a game day experience. With a separate night lounge, it is able to appeal to many different audiences.

Sidelines is all about “the complete experience,” meaning they want to appeal to anyone who might be in Carrollton. Whether it be local businessmen, college students or people from out of town, cousins Brett and Victor Hunt, the owners, want Sidelines to be the place they stop to have a good time.

As for the food, the owners stuck to the basics, providing only appetizers for sharing with friends. The boneless wings were deep-fried, but overall added a kick to the Appetizer Sampler. The mozzarella sticks and queso dip were the main focus of the platter and were very tasteful. The food ranges in price from sides for $1.95 and a sampler for $12.95. The bar offers three beers on tap, as well as a variety of mixed drinks.

Brett and Victor Hunt opened Sidelines when realizing that sports unite all people.

“To sum it up, of course it’s a sports bar. That’s something I love, and a lot of people love. I wanted a place where everyone can feel comfortable. We want families, college students, sports lovers, and we really just want to give everyone the complete experience,” Victor Hunt said.

Of course, being a UWG Alumnae, Victor Hunt wants to have the college students involved. Sidelines will offer a shuttle weekly on Thursday nights for their College Night. The shuttle will run to and from the local apartments and campus; it will be $2 a ride.
