The University of West Georgia’s Coliseum hosted one of the hottest duos in the music industry Wednesday night in front of a sold-out crowd of more than 5,000. Florida Georgia Line, a country music group that has recently dominated the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart, headlined the event.
Florida Georgia Line has joined fellow country music artists Tyler Farr and Colt Ford to embark on a tour that bears the same title as their record-breaking album, ‘Here’s To The Good Times.’ Florida Georgia Line is comprised by Tyler Hubbard, a Monroe, Ga. native, and Brian Kelley of Ormond Beach, Fla.
Farr opened the show and has become a sensation following the release of his latest album, ‘Redneck Crazy’, which debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard Country charts. Ford, known for his signature hip-hop/country sound, took the stage after Farr and helped to get the party atmosphere started. Ford was joined on stage by American Idol star Lauren Alaina who helped him perform his hit single, “Dirt Road Anthem.”
“Every show has been sold out and the crowds have been insane,” said Hubbard. “It’s always a party every night.”
The duo ignited the party and brought members of the audience to their feet when they took the stage at the Coliseum. The group performed songs from classic country music artists to decades old rap hits.
“If you listen to our whole album, there’s something for everybody,” said Kelley. “It’s just what we do, which is kind of a rap/rock/hip hop kind of thing to a laid back beat. It’s kind of a party anthem as well.”
The band described their latest songs as inspiring listeners to chase their dreams and to enjoy the good times. Audience members at the Coliseum witnessed a show that could be described as the biggest party on the UWG campus in years. Florida Georgia Line plans to keep the party going as they continue their tour. The duo has recorded five other songs that will debut in November and will begin work on a new album next year.
