The West Georgian and WUTV Merge to Form One News Platform Focused on Multi-Platform Journalism

For more than four decades The West Georgian and WUTV have worked as separate programs, preparing students for jobs in the media industry by training them in industry standard positions during their student careers. With the steady decline in demand for print journalism and the increase in demand for digital content, the programs are making the decision to form a singular program focused on meeting the changes in journalism.

The School of Humanities Showcases Student Research in The Humanities Undergraduate Research Conference

Undergraduate Research has been an integral part of The University of West Georgia’s undergraduate education. All students have several opportunities throughout the year to present and participate in undergraduate research. One of these opportunities, The Humanities Undergraduate Research Conference, took place on Oct 16. 2025 in the UWG Campus Center Ballroom from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Gracie Abrams Returns to Atlanta For a Sold Out Show on The Secret of Us Tour

On Sept. 30, Gracie Abrams performed a sold out show at the Coca-Cola Roxy Theatre as a part of her The Secret of Us Tour. This was Abrams fourth headline tour and her third time in Atlanta as a headliner. Abrams’ first time in Atlanta was in 2021 as a part of her I Miss You, I’m Sorry Tour. Since then she has released two albums, opened for multiple shows on Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour and been nominated for “Best New Artist” in the 2024 Grammys. Her rapid success has been reflective in the improvement of her performance quality on this tour.
