The Mobilize Recovery Across Georgia bus tour made an important stop in Carrollton on Wednesday, Sept. 20, and local education figureheads from the University of West Georgia, Carrollton City Schools, Carroll County Schools and West Georgia Technical College were part of a large cast of local speakers.
The University of West Georgia recently announced that they will be moving up to the NCAA Division-I level as a member of the Atlantic Sun Conference (ASUN), effective beginning in the 2024-25 school year, and the university made the move official with a signing ceremony in The Coliseum on Tuesday, Sept. 12 in front of a sizable crowd of students, community leaders and alumni.
Despite some early struggles with tackling and third-down stops, it was West Georgia’s goal-line defense that earned the team a 21-19 home opener victory over the Limestone University Saints on Thursday, Aug. 31.
The Garage, located in Boyd 114, provides open access to high-tech prototyping equipment, offering a new avenue for aspiring minds to turn ideas into real-world products.
