The University of West Georgia’s men’s basketball team confirmed their place in the opening round of the Gulf South Conference (GSC) Tournament last Saturday after a comfortable 83-54 victory against the Alabama Huntsville Chargers.
Located on 74 Jackson Street in Downtown Newnan, right next to UWG’s satellite campus is the McRitchie-Hollis Museum, a 1937 Neoclassical home that now serves as a bastion of Newnan’s local history.

Although this setup is common, famous bands such as The White Stripes, The Black Keys and The Kills have established that just two people can be as powerful as a fully equipped band. Creating and performing music as a duo is hard work, and truly iconic two-piece bands are slowly becoming a thing of the past. Monsoon, an introspective power-punk pair from Athens, Ga., has accepted this challenge and proven that it only takes two.

The Carrollton Center for the Arts presents “The Nutcracker” ballet to celebrate the holiday season. The production starts on Nov. 17 with an abridged school field trip matinee, and the full production premieres that evening at 7 p.m. There will be four full-length shows in total from Friday, Nov. 17 to Sunday, Nov. 19.
